Table Mountain National Park is situated at the south-western tip of Africa. The scenic Table Mountain Chain stretches from Signal Hill in the north to Cape Point in the south and the seas and coastline of the peninsula.
The Park is recognised for its extraordinarily rich, diverse and unique fauna and flora - with rugged cliffs, steep slopes and sandy flats.
Table Mountain National Park is an international tourism icon and is part of the Cape Floristic Region World Heritage Site. The most common vegetation type found here is fynbos (meaning fine bush).
This narrow peninsula of land with its beautiful valleys, bays and beaches is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the west and Indian Ocean on the east.
Table Mountain and the legendary Cape of Good Hope, are two famous landmarks found in the Table Mountain National Park.
Nowhere else in the world does an area of such spectacular beauty and such rich bio-diversity exist almost entirely within a metropolitan area - the city of Cape Town.
Table Mountain National Park is primarily an open access Park allowing the general public free access. There are only three points where conservation fees are payable, Cape of Good Hope, Boulders and Silvermine.
